Prek Por

Our Program in Prek Por village is one of two Indvidual Pupil Programs (IPPs) we run in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia.  Started in January 2002, the Prek Por IPP currently supports 14 students – all poor and at-risk girls – who attend 7 different local area schools.  Prek Por is located about 2 hours to the southeast from Phnom Penh.  To get there, you must take a ferry across the Mekong River.  The village is surround by fields of papaya and rice.

Ages of our students in the Prek Por IPP range from 9 to 20.  All students are currently in grades 5 through 12 at their local schools.  One of our Prek Por students, Sokhym is featured on our Student Profile Page.  Every student’s individual need is continually assessed to ensure that they receive enough support to study as they wish.  Current scholarships for students in the Skun IPP range from $10 to $25 per month and are set by our Program Director in Phnom Penh.
