Sangkhem
My name is Sangkhem. I am a CASF graduate with a major in Law from Royal University of Law and Economics.
Dear Mr. Fred and Donors of CASF,
I just finished Bachelor of Law. Now CASF helps me study English, level 3 at Australian Center for Education (ACE). I’m very happy that CASF has always supported my study since I studied at Kampong Cham Province, grade 12. What makes me very happy is that I lived in flat CASF provides for university women. Now I’m an intern in Cambodian Defenders Project. I’m an assistant to a lawyer. My job there is to help prepare and type documents. The lawyer also used me go to Appeal court, Supreme Court and Phnom Penh court in order to file a case and find the clerk that holds the client’s case. When I first went there, it was very difficult because I’m a new intern and didn’t know how to do the work yet. But now I think that it‘s no problem for me. I work hard. I think if I do a good job it will be easier for CASF to send another student to follow me when I finish as intern.
Finally, I’m very thankful for CASF that helped me beginning five years ago until I’m finished Bachelor of Law. And I hope that CASF can help me until finish studying at ACE. In the future, I want to work in an organization that helps poor children and women who have problems in their family. I want to eventually study for a Master of Law. |

Women in Cambodia do not enjoy equal access to education, paid employment, land
ownership and other property rights. Women also suffer from poor to non-existent
reproductive health services. They are generally in a disadvantaged position in
both family and society.
